Ultimately, the new Northland Workforce Development Center will replace the current facility and offer more programs, a state-of-the-art facility and up-to-date-support.
The existing Northland Career Center is a public, not-for-profit, career and technical school located within the Platte County R3 School District in Platte City, Missouri. NCC offers twelve secondary daytime programs. Many adult and community education classes are also provided in the evening.
This new facility has been researched for over eight years to find the right design and programming needs to support the students and patrons of the Northland and Kansas City area. Research was conducted across the two state region and nation-wide with visits to Oklahoma, Ohio, Iowa, Massachusetts, Arizona, California, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Leadership has engaged in workforce conversations across the KC region for the past 10 years.
Mr. Noller and Mr. Green worked with approximately 200 stakeholders including 100 industry professional to determine the final design and the proposed NCC programming for the NWDC.
Beginning in August of 2024, Mr. Jeff Green partnered with Clark Enersen for detailed design and development meetings with industry groups and instructors for each academy and program. These meetings have been extremely successful and have yielded renderings seen on the following pages. Below are examples of programs that will be proudly taught in this new facility.
